Hi. I'm Heather, and I'm a Feminist. I have been interested in feminism for the past year or two, and lately it is one of my favorite things to talk about. Currently, I'm exploring feminism at an academic level and am auditing courses at USU in the Women and Gender Studies program. It's great! I love hearing the perspectives of other students.
Feminism has become a valuable part of my identity in my search to become more self-aware, educated, independent, compassionate, and courageous. It is awesome! Feminism validates me, inspires me, invigorates me, and encourages me to stand for something. It simply wakes me up.
My name for this blog, Chosen to This Fight, was borrowed from a phrase in the song Sophia. It is about Athena, Greek Goddess of Wisdom and Goddess of War. I love the dramatic heroism, passion, and devoutness to the divine feminine in the lyrics. Plus, it's a pretty good dance mix. You may also notice that the image I've chosen for my blog is a drawing of Athena pointing her spear towards battle. Likewise, I feel the call of feminism pointing me in the right direction and urging me to stand up and take action.
My goal with this blog is to share my experiences with feminist issues, spread awareness among my readers, and encourage activism. I welcome anyone to participate and leave me comments. Thank you for visiting my blog!
